Kristin Hancock

Kristin landed her dream job at Friends of Indy Animals in 2024 after volunteering at Indianapolis Animal Care Services for 3 years and serving on both our events and capital campaign committees.

A Canadian immigrant, Kristin brought with her a wealth of experience in corporate communications from both the government and nonprofit sectors, which gave her a unique perspective on work, life, and how human connection improves them both.

When Kristin isn’t leading the change at Friends, you can find her planning her next trip with her husband or dreaming up a travel adventure with friends. She’s still checking off items on her “To Do in Indy” list and would happily take suggestions from locals!

Administrative Coordinator

Katie Childers

Katie is the newest member of the Friends team, having joined us as our first full-time administrative coordinator in mid-2025.

A logistical and organizational magician, Katie brings with with her a wealth of experience from accounting, legal, and nonprofit sectors, which give her a fantastic background to support the important work we do in animal welfare.

When Katie isn’t managing the office at Friends, you can find her spending time with her husband and pets at home or catching up on her stack of yet-to-read books.
