Construction Update: Concrete Floors and Open Doors

Floors and a roof are almost complete and that means our city’s new animal shelter has an almost solid foundation before the weather turns chilly. We are still on time and on budget for a spring 2026 opening!
What’s happening now?
Interior slab pours are 50% complete crews have started interior masonry wall installation. The site will feature a City-managed dog park and that area has been graded and prepped. The pond area of the site has also been graded and is holding water and crews have completed the retention wall and stabilization at the creek. The roof is 90% complete, as you can see from the aerial photo.
What’s next?
Site utility installation will continue in September as well as slab pouring in the kennel areas. There is SO much concrete to pour! Fire suppression and sprinkler installation will continue, along with ductwork, electrical, interior masonry and door frame installation. The large animal building will also start to take shape.
