About Us

We Save Animals.

Period.

There is a large and persistent gap between the needs of our city’s homeless animals and the funding available to care for them.

Friends of Indy Animals exists to close that gap.

We do it by providing financial support to Indianapolis Animal Care Services (IACS), the only animal shelter in Marion County required by law to take in all animals regardless of breed, health conditions, or circumstances. Friends of Indy Animals helps IACS promote the safety, health, and adoption of more than 16,000 homeless animals every year. Here’s how we do it:

  • High-Impact Fundraising. As a fundraising partner to IACS, our efforts help pay for important facility upgrades, critical health care, enrichment programs, and more.
  • Advocacy and Education. We engage the Indianapolis community on topics such as the proper treatment of animals and the importance of spaying and neutering.
  • Animal Adoption. Our work has a direct and significant impact on the number of animals saved via adoption, fostering, or rescue from the IACS shelter.
