In 1976, The Band played its farewell concert in San Francisco, along with Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Van Morrison, Joni Mitchell, Muddy Waters, and other music giants—and Martin Scorsese shaped it into The Last Waltz, one of the great rock documentaries of all time.

Such A Night was inspired following the death of The Band’s drummer, Levon Helm, in April of 2012. a small group of Indianapolis musicians decided to get together and play the songs of The Band to honor Helm’s legacy. As word of their endeavors began to spread among the local music community, the group grew, and it was decided to recreate The Band’s legendary final show, The Last Waltz. That concert, also a brilliant film and soundtrack directed by Martin Scorsese, features The Band and several of the biggest musicians of the day.

Now an all-star cast of Indiana musicians is uniting to play the iconic songs of that landmark show to benefit the lifesaving programs of Indianapolis Animal Care Services – our city’s animal shelter. It’s a show already beloved by local audiences and a great opportunity to reach an enthusiastic and discerning audience of music and animal lovers.
